Before starting Myownly Boarding Kennel, Cathi began her pet care career in 1968 at Northgate Veterinary Clinic. She worked as a licensed animal-health technician in Lynnwood for 20 years gaining experience and a wealth of knowledge. She opened Myownly Boarding Kennel in 1989 and has provided Monroe, Snohomish County, and the greater Seattle area with high quality pet care and grooming services. Our facility is located on five acres outside Monroe. The original building, the East Wing, holds 21 runs that are five feet wide and eight feet deep. These runs face away from each other and include a privacy den making it the perfect area for shy, noisy, and antisocial boarders who need some space from other pups.
In 1992, Myownly Boarding Kennel expanded. The newest addition of the kennel, the West Wing, created a space with 30 varied three feet to eight feet wide runs, heated floors, and indoor/outdoor kennels for dogs that require special care and space. With a diverse set up, Myownly can accommodate and plan for almost every dog and cat. We have two outdoor play areas, both secured by tall sturdy fences and surfaced with artificial turf to keep your pup clean and happy. Outside of the building we have plenty of space for private walks and even an off leash dog park!
Cathi envisioned a kennel that can provide a safe and trustworthy destination for pet owners to board their animals. Not only has she achieved that, Cathi has also established herself as one of the most experienced pet care providers in the United States.
In 2021 Cathi’s son, Andy, purchased the kennel. Following in his mother’s footsteps he continues to keep the family business alive and flourishing. He has accomplished so much in the three plus years of owning and managing the family business.
With over 50 years of working with animals, Cathi officially retired in January of 2022. We owe it all to her!
