Boarding Trials

Welcoming New Dogs & Cats to Myownly Boarding Kennel

All new boarding pets begin with a required one‑night trial board, requested via email or contact form. You are welcome to create your account in advance, allowing our team to review your pet’s basic information before your trial request is submitted.

The trial is an introductory 24-hour stay that helps your pet acclimate to our environment, and gives our team the chance to understand their needs before a longer visit. It’s an important step in reducing stress, building trust, and ensuring your cat or dog has a positive experience from day one, while helping you feel confident that this is the right fit for your pet

Why The Trial Matters:

The trial board allows us to get to know your pet’s personality, temperament, comfort level, and routine. It also gives them time to explore the kennel, meet and interact with our team, and settle into the daily rhythm of the facility. This early relationship‑building helps us tailor future stays and support your pet in the way that suits them best.

What Happens During the Trial?

During the trial stay, your dog or cat is introduced to our standard schedule, including feeding times, rest periods, outdoor breaks (for dogs), and enrichment opportunities. Our staff spends time interacting with your them, observing their behavior, and noting any preferences or sensitivities.

These insights help us make thoughtful recommendations for future boarding or daycare visits.

When you arrive for your trial stay, please allow 15 minutes for check-in and check-out.

How Long Is The Trial?

The trial board should be planned for a full 24 hours, with a drop off between 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., and a pick up around the same time the next day.

This duration is long enough for your pet to experience the full routine and for our team to gather the information we need to support them well.

Can We Tour The Facility First?

Absolutely! In fact, you are welcome to schedule your tour and trial on the same day, if you prefer!

Our 15–20 minute tours give you a clear look at our kennel, daily routine, and the spaces where your dog or cat will stay. You’re welcome, but not required, to bring them along so they can explore the environment and meet our staff.

During the visit, we encourage owners to share any relevant behavioral history, past boarding experiences, or sensitivities so we can understand how to best support your pet from the start.

Account creation is not required before prior to scheduling a tour.

What do I bring?

For the trial stay, it’s completely fine to pack light.
Your dog just needs their usual walking gear (collar, leash, harness, etc.,) and a comfort item from home. You’re also welcome to send anything else you think might help them feel settled and we’ll make sure they have what they need while they get to know us.

What’s required before I book?

Before scheduling a trial board, we will need your cat or dog’s most recent vaccination records be sent via email, and for your client account to be created.

To schedule your trial board, send an email to contact@myownly.com or use our contact form, where we can answer questions and help get you scheduled for your pet’s trial stay.
