Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I Tour The Facility?

Yes! If you would like to tour the facility before bringing your pup in, we’d love to show you around. We schedule views at 10am or 5pm daily. Just fill out our contact form, or send us an email to contact@myownly.com to get scheduled.

  • What Is A Trial Board?

A trial board is a required one‑night stay for all new overnight boarding dogs. It helps your pup get comfortable with our facility and gives our staff the chance to understand their needs before a longer visit.

This 24‑hour stay builds familiarity, reduces stress, and ensures we can provide the best possible care.

For full details on what to expect and how to prepare, please visit our Trial Boarding page.

  • East or West Wing? Can I Choose?

Our kennel has two wings: the East Wing and the West Wing. There is no price difference, and the level of care is identical throughout.
The setups simply differ so we can accommodate a wide range of dog personalities and needs. During your dog’s trial board, our staff will evaluate where they’re most comfortable and place them in the wing that best suits them.

  • What Should I Bring?

We recommend you bring:
Pre-portioned food for the stay, plus an extra day’s worth
-A bed, blanket, or t-shirt that smells like home
-Your dog’s favorite toys or treats
-Any tools you use to walk your dog

Please leave your bowls at home! We have plenty to go around.

  • What Vaccines Do You Require?

For dogs: Rabies, Bordetella, and Canine Distemper/Parvo vaccines (DHPP)

For cats: Rabies and Feline Distemper (FVRCP)

  • What Time Can I Drop Off/Pick Up? What If I’m Running Late?

Drop‑off and pick‑up are available anytime during our office hours: 7:00–10:00 AM and 4:00–6:00 PM.

If you’re running late, please let us know as soon as possible, especially if it will be outside of office hours, so we can arrange for someone to meet you. If you can’t make your scheduled pick‑up day, that’s completely fine; we’re happy to keep your pup an extra night. Out-of-hours drop off/pick ups can be accommodated with advanced approval.

Please note that pick‑ups outside of office hours incur a $50 fee.

  • Can My Dogs Share A Run?

Yes! Dogs from the same families often do better when boarded together in the same run. We offer a $5 per-day discount for dogs who share a run.

Please let us know if they need to be separated when fed.

  • What If My Pet Needs Daily Medications?

Our staff can administer all types of medications. Pill and liquid medications are $5 per dose, and injections are $10 per dose. Please provide detailed instructions and enough medication for your pet’s entire stay.

For a full breakdown of fees, please visit our Rates page.

  • Should I bring meds for anxiety, even if my pet hasn’t needed them for a while?

Yes. If your dog has ever been prescribed medication for stress or situational anxiety (eg., Trazodone, Metronidazole), please include it in their belongings.
Even if they haven’t used it in a while, having it available allows our team to support them appropriately if they become uncomfortable during their stay.

  • Will My Dog Play With Other Dogs?

We do not offer traditional group play at our facility.

However, we do look for opportunities to pair dogs with similar energies when appropriate. This may include small‑dog office time, or parallel walks for dogs who benefit from shared activity without direct uncontrolled interaction.

  • What If My Dog Has A Behavior Issue?

While we’d love to welcome every dog who makes a reservation, some pups don’t thrive in a kennel environment.

Any dog with behavioral concerns or reactivity toward humans or other animals must complete an assessment with Andy before a trial board or extended stay. Please review the Boarding Trials page before reaching out, then email us with as much detail as possible about your dog to schedule the assessment.

  • Can I Add A Grooming Service To My Reservation?

Yes! We offer exit baths and nail trims so your pup can head home looking and feeling their best. Nail trims start at $25, and baths start around $30-45.

View our Grooming Page for more information.

  • Are Deposits Required For Grooming?

No, grooming does not require a deposit. Grooming services are completed during your dog’s stay and are simply added to your final invoice at pick‑up.

View our Grooming Page for more information.

  • What are your business hours & holiday closures?

Our office is open every day from 7:00–10:00 a.m. and 4:00–6:00 p.m. (closed mid‑day).
We are closed on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

We also close for the day at 10:00 a.m. on the day before each listed holiday. This early closure helps us care for pets without interruption and prepare the facility for the holiday schedule.

  • What If There Is An Emergency or Injury With My Pet?

In the event of an emergency, we will always attempt to contact you first. If we are unable to reach you or your emergency contact, we will take your pet to our local veterinarian, Cascade Animal Clinic.
