For more than 30 years, Myownly Boarding Kennel has been shaped by family, hands-on care, and a commitment to doing things the right way. What started as a small, purpose-built kennel outside Monroe has grown into a trusted facility known for comfort, safety, and individualized attention.
Our Story
Myownly Boarding Kennel has been family owned and operated for more than 30 years. Founded by Cathi, a licensed veterinary technician (LVT), the kennel began as a small facility on five acres just outside Monroe. Her goal was simple: to create a safe, reliable place where pets could stay comfortably while their families were away.
Over the years, Myownly grew into one of the most trusted boarding facilities in Snohomish County. With referrals from local veterinary clinics, long‑term client relationships, and a reputation for individualized care.
The Same Values, A New Chapter
In 2021, Cathi’s son Andy took over ownership. He had already spent years working alongside her, learning the rhythms of the kennel and the needs of the pets who stayed there.
Today, Andy continues to uphold the same standards of care and community trust that shaped Myownly from the beginning, while also modernizing systems and strengthening the daily operations that keep the facility running smoothly.
A Facility Built Around Comfort & Safety
Myownly Boarding Kennel is divided into two wings:
- The East Wing, with 20 indoor runs and privacy dens, ideal for shy or sensitive dogs who benefit from a quieter environment. This wing also features privacy screens and dens in each run.
- The West Wing, added in 1992, includes 30 indoor/outdoor runs with heated floors & flexible sizing for dogs who need more space or fresh air.
Both wings are climate‑controlled year‑round, and dogs are placed based on comfort, not price. During your dog’s trial board, our staff will evaluate where they settle in best.
Outside, the property includes two covered play yards, private walking paths, and a secure off‑leash dog park. The entire facility is monitored by security cameras to ensure safety and peace of mind.
